Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE) 2016 concludes on a bullish note

South India’s Largest B2B International Jewellery Show by MJDMA and UBM India 

The 12th edition of the three-day mega B2B gem and jewellery extravaganza, the Gem & Jewellery India International Exhibition (GJIIE 2016) drew to a successful and promising close. The exhibition was held at the Chennai Trade Centre from October 7th to 9th , 2016. The show was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti, Padma Shri Awardee and other key dignitaries Mr. Rajesh Vummidi, Chairman, MJDMA – GJIIE, Mr. Jayantilal Chalani, President, MJDMA, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India and Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee, Group Director UBM India.

Speaking on the successful completion of the 12th edition of GJIIE,  Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India saidSouth India is the country's major consumer of gold and diamond jewellery and through GJIIE 2016, UBM India provided an international trading platform enabling jewellery, diamond, pearl and gemstone suppliers to congregate, interact and network with key buyers, both local and international in the Southern region. The overwhelming industry response further validates the industry need for such a large trade platform to tap the potential of South India’s market, for both exhibitors and visitors. The expo co-hosted with MJDMA, is the second largest jewellery expo in the country and is one of the four successful pan India jewellery shows, held annually by UBM India. This year, the expo saw a growth of 35% with exhibitors from Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Trissur, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Madurai, amongst many others.”
